Ah! I feel your pain, but in my case it's kind of the other way around. I park in an auxiliary near my school which has a shuttle that takes you from the lot to one of five stops around the campus. It's less cramped AND less expensive than a semester garage permit by about $200! The only drawback is that you have to plan to have extra time to waste riding on the shuttle, but it's worth it.
Ugh. The parking is so bad at school. 30,000 students and barely enough spaces to accommodate all the commuters...
