MyFriendDeb has Vista too. She loved it at first. Lately she's been saying I'm lucky I avoided it (not sure what's changed). Mr. HP said 7 is an amalgamation of all the best parts of Vista and XP.
Are they? They're made by Gateway, which I thought was a safe name. Our first computer was an HP and we had problems so I was leery, but that was 17 years ago (computers were so new HP had a little guy that looked like Mr. Monopoly that popped up ALL THE TIME to help with every damn screen. Maybe that's why we hated it). I always thought HP was like a Walmart top-of-the-line product (crappy mass production but at least a recognizable name brand), so we'll see.
So far apart from taskbar settings mysteriously changing themselves, 7 is pretty exciting. But probably all the super cool new things I'm impressed with were taken from Vista.
