You uh... that sounds really awful, as far as family goes. (No offense.) I dislike my extended family (on my father's side) quite a lot, the year's holidays being some of the worst moments in my young and teenage life, and I'm not even going to talk about the lawsuit they filed against my parents, but at least I have a pretty good relationship with my actual family (parents, sister, brother-in-law and two nieces... I'm not sure what the word for that is, the "close" family)... I know I was born pretty lucky when it came to that.

But you know, all things considering, you turned out very alright, my friend! And your reaction to everything your family does and says is completely justified. You're not the maladjusted one here, trust me.
