It is very sad. She claims to love the dogs, but doesn't want them ruining her house, but also can't be bothered to walk them. I might have been editorializing a bit, we don't know why they were barking. They could have just been getting desperate for attention; not as bad as starving, but neglect all the same. We just don't understand why someone would get a dog who doesn't want the responsibility that comes with it. Tery's theory (based on her parents' coddling defense of her) is that she's one of those "entitlement" brats: the world owes me something so I can do whatever the hell I want.
