You know, I think there was an incident where one of the partners was reunited with his daughter after an estrangement caused by the daughter's drug use, only to find out she was probably still a meth-head.

I'm sure there's lots of evidence, but I'd probably go the same way you have even if was presented with it. There's no harm in being friendly with her whether she's still using or not, as long as you don't loan her large amounts of money or entrust her with the care of small children.

I agree that the outcome was the right one, but it still disturbs me to absolutely know that there are real-life instances of children being raised as racists and such. At a certain level, couldn't that be abuse?
