Nevvie blows into my journal and brings with her MST3K

So I just noticed yesterday that [livejournal.com profile] arrewen defriended me, Lord knows how long ago. Darn. I don't know how I will get through the day without receiving updates every time Shia LeBeouf picks his nose, but I must persevere. Somehow.

But apparently when LJ closes a door, it opens a window....and in blew a breath of fresh air named [livejournal.com profile] angelislington :)

In looking through Nevvie's (very numerous and very cool) interests, I realized I had totally forgotten my passion for Mystery Science Theater 3000. Strange, considering it is one of about 4 things that Tery and I actually have in common (we even went to the first convention in Minnesota together, watched them riff on This Island Earth live as a test audience for the movie and everything).

So I checked out a MiSTie community and found this angel straight from heaven guy selling practically every episode on homemade DVDs (he is too scrupulous to copy the stuff available commercially). Must.....fight.....completionist.....urges.... Must....not.....buy.....every....episode..... !!! But it was too much to ask me to resist ordering a copy of "Earth vs. the Spider," in my opinion the creme de la creme of the whole series (Tery asked me to get her a copy of "Eegah!" because she can't get enough of the caveman carrying the heroine's purse).

Just when I thought I had run out of useless things to spend money on.....now this.

*sigh*

*giggles* Thank you so much for saying such sweet (and completely true) things about me! *squish!* I'm blushing all over. Awww. (Do it again. ;-)

lol I couldn't help it. I am so easily overcome with happiness when I make a new friend. Doesn't happen very often, if you couldn't tell :)

LOVE Pip and Pop....although Treelo has always been my standout favorite (I think I have like 3 versions of him as a stuffed toy. So cute!)

I desperately want a Pip plush, but apparently they aren't made anymore.

There's a woman selling both of them on Ebay, but I don't know if I want to pay so much when I only want one. But if it's the only way....oh, decisions decisions! *whacks head on wall* ;-)

yikes! I saw the eBay listing. She is either completely crazy or an evil genius to sell them separately. But don't settle for hers....I saw a pair of 12" dolls for only $7 on the newest page (if you don't mind a small stain and pen mark on them) and another set for only $2. They don't have Buy It Now options, unfortunately, so I am sure they will start getting lots of bids....but it might be more worthwhile to watch those than fall for the diabolical "each otter sold separately" scheme (I am a total eBay whore, can you tell?)

Good Luck!

*SQUEALS!*

There's more! Oh thankyouthankyou for telling me, you're an angel! :D

Dinsdale! Dinsdale?

Sorry, saw your "Spiny Norman" and couldn't resist!

My favorite MST3K ep has to be "Manos, the Hand of Fate". Torgo is simply too bizarre to be believed. How do big knees make someone menacing? Although he did have really cool theme music!

"Manos" was great too, but I just think for all-around laughability "Spider" was the most consistent (plus I remember it having a really funny short...bonus!) This guy is selling them for only $7 a pop so it shouldn't be hard to collect all my favorites.
