Hmm, well, they're not especially referencing to anything. I used to play Neopets and your pet there can have a pet of its own, which is called a petpet (and it goes on, because your petpet can have a pet of its own called a petpetpet, and yes, it's rather silly). Anyway, one of the rarer petpets is a Flaming Wuzzle, which is what that little fellow is. They're flaming versions of the Fuzzle race from outer space who are generally friendly, but the Flaming Wuzzle is evil to the core. Anyway, a friend of mine made this icon especially for me :)
