Sorry...Entertainment Weekly, my magazine subscription (not generally a gay publication, but I guess this particular editorialist is). Agreed, we've made great strides in awareness, but that doesn't mean we can rest on our laurels. There are new kids being born every day. And if that author is the single most popular children's writer in a decade? Yeah, I think it would be a shame for such widely read books to ignore 10% of the population. I remember the brou-ha-ha surrounding Harry's first kiss with Cho Chang in the movie. Is it too much to ask for maybe a couple of secondary (or tertiary) male characters to hold hands?
