The SC decision was announced on my birthday. Bleh. My grandpa was quite mad about the Supreme Court ruling, mostly because he feels that they made the wrong decision legally (not just because of how he feels about gay rights). He thinks that it wasn't in keeping with precedence in California law, and that they made their decision because they know that it'll come up in the election and they didn't want the responsibility of making the difficult decision this time. I know that someday I'll be telling my children about the days when gay people couldn't marry. I still don't know what I'll say when they ask why.
