A rare sight hereabouts -- a meme
Apr. 7th, 2006 10:53 amI usually despise memes (how did I put it? "An excuse to post something in the absence of any actual creativity") but this one is interesting.

Go to Wikipedia and look up your birthday (excluding the year). List three neat facts, two births and one death in your journal, including the year.
April 8
Three neat facts:
1926 - Benito Mussolini is "slightly wounded in the nose" after being shot with a revolver by Violet Gibson, an Irish woman and sister of Baron Ashbourne. (Watch out for those Irish women and their temper!)
1990 - "Twin Peaks" premieres. (Ironic considering how much I loathe David Lynch and all he does.)
1994 - Body of Kurt Cobain discovered in his Washington home after having died three days earlier. ( I remember this. We were in Boston for my birthday and, while walking home late at night, a forlorn fan shrieked at us "Kurt lives!!")
Two births:
1947 - Tom DeLay, American politician (Gah! I had managed to forget this fact.)
1963 - Julian Lennon, British musician and singer (That's not so bad.)
One death:
1973 - Pablo Picasso, Spanish artist (b. 1881) (No comment. But I'm nothing if not consistent.)
