On the Writer/Director commentary, Pete Jackson and the two head writers are discussing the decision not to include Elrond's two elf sons at the Battle of Helm's Deep:
Phillipa Boyens: It would have just meant casting two more impossibly beautiful, good-looking men, and Fran and I were just sick and tired of doing that, weren't we?
Peter Jackson: Well there would have been no choice but for me to play one of them. Maybe that was what you were trying to avoid?
Phillippa (to Fran): I don't think he's an elf, do you?
Peter: You could squeeze me in the computer, you could do some sort of a digital compression.
Phillipa: Oh, God. I don't think even Weta has the technology, do they?
LOLOLOLOLOL
Evilly, they spoke repeatedly throughout the movie about all the cool things they could do for the "50th Anniversary Special Edition Boxed Set." ~~ :( NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
