Oh I'm still plenty angry, make no mistake. But it's hard to be angry and laugh your ass off at the same time.

From The Daily Show (which I want to marry and have little tiny Jon Stewart babies):

"Just an observation. Usually when someone doesn't want to play 'the blame game'............THEY'RE TO BLAME."

I am so, SO mad that I have missed "The Daily Show" for the past week and a half. Fucking movers are still not here (they're saying tomorrow, but frankly their word isn't much good to me anymore). Hopefully they will get here, though, and I'll be able to catch some repeats or something. Grrr.

That's really a pity, cuz the writers are in top form this week, and the show has been the only thing that's kept my head from completely exploding.

Auuuggh! Damn it! I figured they would be on the ball, with everything that's been going on lately. By the way, I have been reading all of your entries (I sort of lurk in the background, too shy to comment), but I share all of your anger and pain in regards to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. I found this link on the View Askew messageboard, and I thought it might be something you'd want to see. It's the President of Jefferson parish in Louisiana, in an interview with Tim Russert. I honestly couldn't get through the whole thing without crying, especially at the end. http://www.michaelmoore.com/_images/splash/aaron_broussard.mov .

Jesus Christ goddammit. I can't take grown men crying. Unless, of course, it's Bush while being hauled off to jail for criminal negligence.

Well, they probably don't have all the goodness up to watch, but you can catch some highlights on Comedy Central's site:

Thanks for the link! I watched all the headlines, and they were hilarious. Great, great stuff. Oh, and I now have a TV, so I can actually watch the show LoL.

I'm sorry if Aaron Broussard crying upset you or set you off...I didn't mean to upset you. But it is a true testament to what is going on that that man was just choking up and losing his composure like that.

I found one other thing that absolutely grated my cheese like nothing else has so far. I was reading an article on AOL about the continued search for bodies in the floodwaters and whatnot, and in one of the paragraphs was a quote from Dick Cheney (note the bolded part):

Vice President Dick Cheney visited an emergency management center in Austin, Texas, and said the government was finally gaining control of the situation. "I think we are in fact on our way to getting on top of the whole Katrina exercise. We've got a lot of work ahead of us," he said.

My mom and I literally stared at the computer screen in shock when we read that. I think my mouth was actually hanging open for a few minutes. I just...there really are no words. None at all.

Yeah, it amazes me that after 5 years these people haven't learned that sometimes it's much better if they just keep their mouths shut. Until they learn how to act like normal, feeling human beings, that is.
