The Donnie Darko Cosmic Conspiracy

Once again I am the victim of a Cosmic Conspiracy, this one of almost diabolic proportions.

Donnie Darko Director's Cut A simple enough request. My heart started beating a wee bit faster when I saw the commercial last night. I had no idea it was out so soon. So I was a little late, I thought. People will flock to the stores for Taxi and Shark Tale, not a quiet little cult favorite like Donnie.

I was soooo wrong.

Target: Sold out. Blockbuster: Sold its ONE copy already (hello? market research anyone?) Other Blockbusters: Received entire shipments of covers with no discs in them. Blockbuster I was sent to: Had one copy for sale in the system but manager was completely unable to find it anywhere, despite clearly remembering putting it out two days ago.

Donnie Darko fans are a devious and I see now far more numerous lot than I (and everyone else) had first supposed. All of which is combining to ensure that I will never be able to rest until I get my own copy.

Oh man yeah the amount of Donnie fans out there is frightening. They are hardcore. It's such an excellent film though, you can't blame them!
